I have traveled from islands to mountains, so let me tell you about two of my favorite locations. I am the daughter of Spa Travel Gal, so luckily I can tag along on trips to help create content. A few of my preferred spots that we have been to together are St. Kitts and Nevis, and Jackson Hole.

St. Kitts and Nevis is an island country in the Caribbean. St. Kitts is 23 miles long while Nevis is 8 miles long. I mention this because the community is tight-knit and everyone knows everyone. While I was there, the Summer Olympics were in action and being at a local bar meant cheering on fellow islanders in the 100 and 200 meter events. There are many excursions to choose from such as hiking a volcano, scuba diving, and even going on a safari in a monkey forest! One note is to try a Ting in a bottle! You will thank me later. There is even a veterinary school on the island which is perfect for wildlife such as cows, their national bird the pelican, and did I mention monkeys? Between the natural beauty and culture, there is a tremendous amount of fun waiting to happen on the islands.

If you are looking for somewhere with a higher altitude, I recommend Jackson, Wyoming. On your way there enjoy the Grand Teton Mountain view and grab a coffee in Jackson Hole while watching people go up the ski-lift. When my family visited, we stayed 45 minutes away in Alpine. While in Alpine, we rode horses through the mountains and even through a creek. Yellowstone is only 2 hours away from there, so time your visit by checking their website for eruption times, so you can experience the beauty of Old Faithful without having to wait around for it to erupt. The Northwest corner of Wyoming is waiting to be explored so check out these towns on your next trip.

Altogether, whether you choose an island or mountain to spend your relaxation time, remember to live life in the moment and take in the culture and natural beauty around you as it varies tremendously around the world. These two locations are only a small sneak peak of what is waiting out there to be explored.
