I always look forward to my next visit to Monarch Casino Resort Spa in Black Hawk, Colorado. With its world-class spa, stunning views, and wonderful hospitality, each stay promises an unforgettable experience. As I step into this oasis nestled in the heart of nature, I know I’m in for a treat. Monarch Casino Resort Spa offers not just a getaway, but a sanctuary, where relaxation and indulgence intertwine seamlessly.
Spa
The spa offers options for every comfort you can imagine, including a Laconium Relaxation Lounge with extremely comfortable heated contoured seating, a Mountain Stone Bath sauna, a herbal steam room, and an ‘experiential shower’ that simulates ice, fog, thunder, tropical rain, and waterfalls with essential oils. We had such fun experiencing this shower. Additionally, the spa offers Brine inhalation with light spectrum therapies, an aqua jet pool with stunning mountain view, and so much more waiting to be explored.
For treatment services, I enjoyed the signature Gemstone Signature Facial, while Ava indulged in the signature Gemstone Signature Wrap. The facial was so soothing that I fell asleep multiple times during the Gua Sha and therapeutic massage, which increased circulation and helped release toxins. Natural gemstones are infused into the products for an elevated experience. For Ava, The Gemstone Signature Wrap included a full dry brush exfoliation to remove dead skin and increase blood flow, followed by a massage with gemstone-infused oil and Himalayan salt stones on the back. Between the amenities and our treatments, we emerged absolutely relaxed and ready for a nap, before taking on the rest of our day. It was truly an experience like no other.
Dining
With an abundance of options, you can find a meal perfect for everyone at the Monarch Casino Resort Spa. Our personal favorite is the Monarch Chophouse specifically inside the bar. There is a beautiful bar backdrop with fire and a blue ambiance to set the tone. There is also a main dining room which is perfect for the full experience – ask for Chad as your server! If you sit at the bar, more than likely you will be greeted by Tyler who creates delicious cocktails while also serving a full bar. Tyler has been one of our favorite bartenders on both our our escapes to the Monarch Casino Resort Spa
The remarkable coffee shop Java is my morning go-to which has all types of Starbucks beverages and a friendly face to see in the morning (or afternoon). Our go-to drink there is a vanilla oat milk latte. I wish I had one right now. The Bistro Mariposa is an experience like no other as you have access to watch your food being prepared. The Twenty-Four/7 is always there for you with comfort foods and a delicious Lo Mein. We both still crave their Lo Mein for lunch even today.
If you stay on the concierge floor or in any suite, you have access to the concierge lounge which has numerous snacks, personal bartenders, and a quiet space. There are also tables with lovely mountain views. Be sure to snag the fireplace seating when you see it open, It is a favorite among all of the patrons there.
Experiences
During this trip, we discovered a new area in the casino: the Sportsbook. We were able to sit and watch the Women’s Gamecocks advance from the Final Four to the National Championship. We were treated like royalty with a Reserved sign and velvet rope for our area! Inside the 2-floored casino, there is an array of gaming options available, including slots, table games, and poker, offering numerous opportunities to try your luck.
